Dr. Jonathan X Li,
MD
Dr. Li is an internist and primary care physician dedicated to providing outstanding clinical care to patients, to advance population health, advocate for effective health and public policy, and be a role model and clinician educator to medical students and residents. Dr. Li completed medical school at Rosalind Franklin University in Illinois, and completed internal medicine residency and chief residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He looks forward to helping non-traditional applicants, and underrepresented minority applicants, on their journeys towards becoming a physician.

Dr. James Carson,
MD, MPH
Dr. James Carson was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was a multisport athlete throughout his schooling and developed a desire to pursue the medical field as a child. He graduated high school at the top of his class. Dr Carson attended the University of Michigan and obtained a degree in biochemistry with minor in Spanish. He spent summers doing clinical research and volunteering. He then attended medical school at Johns Hopkins University and earned a dual degree in medicine and public health. He became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated in Fall 2007, initiated into the Delta Lambda Chapter. During his year studying public health he received certificates in health disparities and health finance & management. Dr. Carson did his residency in orthopedic surgery at Howard University in Washington DC. He is fellowship trained in adult reconstruction from the University of Chicago. He now practices in Houston, Texas at Lone Star Orthopedic Institute. Mentoring is one of his passions.

Ayomide Ojebuoboh, Incoming Medical Student
Ayomide Ojebuoboh recently graduated from Boston University in 2020, where she majored in Mathematics (Specialty: Statistics) and minored in public health. She aspires to use mathematics, public health and medicine in order to reduce health disparities through research and clinical care as a physician-scientist in epidemiology. Ayomide understands how isolating it can be to pursue a non traditional major as a premedical student, so she is excited to help non-traditional students who are trying to navigate the MD or MD/PhD Application process. She also loves to sing, play piano and write articles for fun!

Raonaq Mia
Incoming Medical Student
Raonaq is a current applicant who graduated from Texas A&M University in 2019 where he majored in Public Health. He currently is working at his city’s local Health Department as an Infectious Disease Epidemiologist where he does epidemiological investigations and surveillance on a multitude of infectious diseases. Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, Raonaq has taken part in the planning and operation of several COVID-19 testing and vaccination drives in his community. His interests in medicine include infectious disease, surgery, and public health.

Katie Seymour
Biomedical Science Master's Student
Katie is a native Texan originally from the Dallas area. She graduated from Tarleton State University in 2020 with a major in Biomedical Science and a minor in Neuroscience. Being a pre-med was unexpected when she started undergrad, initially going for a Forensic Science degree until mid sophomore year, where she officially changed majors to Pre-med. Not knowing anything about the pre-med process since she was the first in her family to go to professional school, she worked tirelessly to understand the process and figured out how to apply in both TMDSAS and AMCAS. She is currently in a Biomedical Science Master's program at Wake Forest, interning at the Neurology Department in the summer and fall, and retaking her MCAT in September 2021. She is very excited about this opportunity and wants to share her knowledge and experiences with others.

Parmis Vafapour
3rd Year Medical Student
Parmis is a third year medical student in London. She has a variety of mentoring and widening participation experience, having many students in their process into and during medical school. Parmis is looking forward to meeting all of you and working with the team from the other

Tiana Clemons
First Year Medical Student
2LT Tiana Clemons is a first-year medical student at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University and a HPSP scholar with the United States Air Force. Tiana was born and raised in Chicago, IL and attended Western Michigan University as an undergraduate. “This journey has not been easy, but I look forward to helping future physicians navigate the pre-medical process. I love to see people accomplish their goals and I want to help however I can along the way. Josh Maret
Incoming Medical Student
Josh is an incoming medical student hailing from Bucks County, PA. After graduating summa cum laude from Drexel University, Josh has been working as a Medical Assistant at an urgent care and as a Crisis Counselor during his gap year. Having worked alongside clinician-scientists at Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Perelman School of Medicine, Josh found his passion at the intersection of clinical care and research. Through his experiences mentoring students of all ages, Josh understands the impact a good mentor can have in bringing the best out of someone. Outside of medicine, Josh is a music producer, Bollywood fusion choreographer, and an avid fan of The Office

Martha Kebeh,
Incoming Medical Student
Martha is a current applicant living in Boston and working as a Medical Assistant in Dermatology during her gap year. Before graduating from Harvard University in Spring 2020,she was involved in mental health counseling, peer-to-peer mentorship, and captaining the Varsity Women’s Track and Field team. Her interests in medicine include public health and surgery, and she hope to attend a medical school that offers opportunities to increase access to healthcare for those underserved by medicine.

Caroline Ezekwesili
Incoming Medical Student
Caroline is a Nigerian-American passionate about improving maternal and child health outcomes in communities of color. She received her Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH). She currently works as a Clinical Research Coordinator in a Boston-based hospital. Outside of her 9-5, she works as a community-based doula where she provides virtual support to birthing individuals. She has a variety of interests including menstrual equity, racial justice, and expanding access to healthcare resources. In all of her roles, Caroline actively works towards her mission of empowering others and fostering community by building relationships

Adaobi Okocha
3rd Year Medical Student
Adaobi Okocha is Nigerian-American woman born in Denver, Colorado, who found her niche in increasing the representation of underrepresented minorities in medicine and STEM fields, improving the quality of healthcare provided to underserved patients and becoming a servant-leader in underserved communities. She attended Emory University for her undergraduate education (Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology major, Global Health, Culture, and Society minor, and for her graduate education in Public Health (concentration in Behavioral Science and Health Education), after which she worked for a year as a scribe, before matriculating into medical school at Meharry Medical College in 2018. She is currently a third-year medical student. She channels her passion into her work serving on the boards of non-profits and through mentoring. She is working to become a pediatrician and be able to incorporate her public health knowledge to provide better care.
